5 STEPS TO SECURING YOUR ABOUT TO BUY LAND IN 2022
Are you skeptical or afraid to buy property in Nigeria?, these following steps will prevent you from any form of scam.
- INSPECT BEFORE BUYING – Don’t assume the land or house exist, go there or you send someone you trust to inspect on your behalf. Doing this gives confidence that what you are buying is GENINUE.
- VISIT THE SALES OFFICE – It is dangerous to buy real estate from individual or company that does not have a physical office, as if anything happens, you won’t have any place to trace them to. Always request for the office address and do visit or delegate.
- GET RECEIPT OF PAYMENT – This is the first proof that you have made payment for the said property. This can either be electronic or hard paper, but ensure it is duly signed.
- REQUEST FOR CONTRACT OF SALES – This is a written sales agreement between the PURCHASER and VENDOR. It contain details regarding what you’ve paid for and some related laws bidding purchases.
NOTE: Until this contract document is signed and delivered by both parties, it is not yet a contract. Therefore, ensure it is signed and sealed.
- SURVEY & DEED OF ASSIGNMENT – These two documents are essentially important to proof in the law court that you actually purchased the said property. They don’t come free, usually called DOCUMENTATION FEE….prices vary from one company to another…Whatever the price, please ensure you pay for it.
